About GATE 2019
GATE 2019 will be organized by Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras in online mode on February 2, 3, 9 and 10, 2019. A new paper "Statistics" has been added this year, taking the total number of papers for which GATE 2019 will be conducted to 24; in the last edition of the exam there were 23 papers. The candidate though will be able to appear for one paper only, preferably in a paper related to the candidate's qualifying degree; that being said, the candidate is free to choose any of the 24 papers. The GATE 2019 application form opened on August 31, 2018, and had to be filled through GOAPS (GATE Online Application Processing System). Last date to submit completed application without late fee was September 23, 2018. With late fee, the application form could be filled till October 1, 2018. Registered candidates could submit the application form till October 3, 2018. Correction facility of application form for all registered candidates is now open from September 27, 2018. It must be noted that to be eligible for admission to M.Tech courses offered by various institutes based on GATE scores, candidates needs to qualify in the exam. The qualifying score will be different for each paper, and will be known at the time of declaration of GATE 2019 result. Also, unless the candidate qualifies in the exam, GATE 2019 score card will not be available for download.
The validity of GATE 2019 score card will be three years from the date on which results have been declared.
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level post-graduate entrance exam that is jointly conducted by the seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Guwahati, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore for admission to M.Tech programmes offered by government as well as many private institutes.
